Do you recall your first shave? Perhaps your mind has mercifully blocked it from your memory. If like me you’re thinking back to the 60’s or 70’s then that shaving experience probably would be best forgotten. My first real shaving began during my basic training in the army. Armed with a bic disposable I felt I had “arrived”. The finished job however did not impress.
Standing ready for inspection on my first parade I somehow guessed that the drill sergeant would not take kindly to the numerous nicks and cuts vainly disguised with small bits of tissue dotted on my face. I was however in good company as my equally naive colleagues stood alongside me awaiting our fate. Our shaving inexperience all too obvious.
There followed my first shaving lesson, on the parade ground, in the freezing cold of an early April morning back in 1978.
Of course that shaving lesson didn’t totally solve our shaving problems. It took a bit of time to master the technique and of course to acquire some decent shaving kit.
Thankfully today shaving equipment and techniques have improved greatly since those days, indeed are improving all the time. That really is the purpose of this site. To provide a basic resource for learning those shaving techniques and to get an idea as to some of the latest shaving kit out there in the marketplace.
I hope you find your visit useful. Please feedback your shaving experiences. I’ll be happy to post them on this site.
